Full course description

This American Lit/Comp course will survey American works and authors from the new land through contemporary society. This course will prepare the student for specific writing experiences such as exposition, analysis of literature, and literary criticism as well as provide vocabulary development, research skills, and test-taking strategies. Unfiltered access to online literary sites and high speed access for viewing video files is required. Students will need to obtain a copy of “The Crucible” by Authur Miller, “The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn” by Mark Twain, and “The Great Gatsby” by F. Scott Fitzgerald. Also, students will be required to select one book from the list of contemporary literature titles provided in the course.
